This award is for for Activism and  Academic Liberatory Discourse.

 

 

Web Guide Educational AwardThe Philosophy Research Base was voted the Best Educational Site for the month of October, 1999 at JPS-Web.  This has placed us in the running for the Best Educational Site of 1999.  

Update:  Erratic Impact voluntarily withdrew from the Educational Site of the Year Award contest due to controversies over the way the contest is administered.   

 

Scout ReportThe Philosophy Research Base was selected for review in The Scout Report for Social Sciences, Volume 2, Number 17, May 18, 1999.

The Scout Report review:  Danne Polk, an instructor in the Department of Philosophy at Villanova University, has meticulously compiled and annotated the numerous resources in the Philosophy Research Base. This extensive meta-site emphasizes the work of western continental philosophers but also includes diverse sections on subjects such as British and American philosophy, non-western philosophy, environmental philosophy, feminist philosophy, and psychoanalytic philosophy, among many more.

Exploratorium's review: Philosophy Research Base - Stumped by the difference between existentialism and buddhism? Despite its dry title, this is an amazing research site, with countless cross-referenced links to philosophy on the Web.
